“Electricity providers beg Biden not to shutter power plants in the name of climate change.”

This is the title of an article today in energycentral.com. Basically, says that we are retiring generating plants faster than renewables growth can keep up and we are risking outages.

Quoting from the article: “Regional electricity providers tasked with keeping America’s lights on warned Tuesday that the Biden administration must delay the retirement of fossil fuel power plants to give renewables time to catch up — or else risk major energy shortfalls.”

Considering the increase in electricity demand driven by climate change and EV’s and the worsening financial condition of fossil generators, you should plan on a significant increase in outages.
