Can’t get there if you won’t go there!
Every poll indicates there is widespread support for a decarbonized economy and the energy transition. Unfortunately, support for many people is narrowly defined as “totally onboard as long as it doesn’t inconvenience me, cost anything, or cause me any distress.”
I bring this up due to a recent article,
Ten Ohio counties ban wind, solar projects under new state law
10 counties in Ohio have now banned utility-scale wind and solar projects. 2 additional counties are in the process of joining the fray.
The energy transition is likely to stall and fail since projects, like the necessary transmission line build-out, will not be approved and things will grind to a halt in mid-process. The transition is already causing problems with the grid. Image the problems of only getting part of the way.
Important to plan for grid problems and outages. You should get backup power.
