I had the honor of visiting and touring the National Renewable Energy’s Flat Iron Laboratory. The immense item behind me is one of the many wind turbine blades that are tested and developed at NREL. For those of you unacquainted with NREL, I strongly recommend visiting their website (www.nrel.gov) and taking advantage of the incredible resources available. NREL has been our primary go to resources for all things energy. NREl has some the best software tools for modeling and evaluating energy projects anywhere, and best of all, they are free. We routinely use NREL’s software in our modeling of energy systems and rely heavily on their analytical and technical reports.
