Internal Power Quality Issues

The most common cause of inside the plant power quality problems is the presence of large current influx loads, such as large motors, welders, induction furnaces and injection molding machines. These loads cause the voltage and frequency to get out of synch (called power factor).  Another source of problems is the presence of inverter-based products causing harmonic distortion. The most commons culprits are variable frequency drives and on-site solar connected to the plant’s power system.
